SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an invasive pump for administering a medicinal product to a patient. The pump is configured to be connected to an infusion set, through which the medicinal product is infused to the patient. Moreover, the infusion pump contains a processor and at least one permanent computer-readable storage medium that stores instructions executed by the processor, which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: determine whether the infusion set is made with the possibility of infusing the medicinal product to the patient in one place or in two places; if it is determined that the infusion set is configured to infuse the medicinal product at one site, then: determine the first time period for infusion of the medicinal product; and controlling the pump motor for infusing the medicinal product to the patient based on the first time period, the pump motor being configured to pump out the medicinal product through the infusion set; if it is determined that the infusion set is configured to infuse the medicinal product in two places, then, determine the second time period for the infusion of the drug, and the second time period is different from the first time period; and controlling the pump motor for infusing the medicinal product to the patient based on the second time period.
