FIELD: medicine; obstetrics; perinatology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for early diagnosis of fetal growth retardation. The blood serum of a pregnant woman taken at the 8th week of pregnancy is examined. The content of collagen type 1 (COL1) and the activity of MMP-1 metalloproteinase are determined. The COL1/MMP-1 ratio is calculated. With a coefficient value of 1.67 and below, fetal growth retardation is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides increased accuracy of diagnosing the development of fetal growth retardation by determining the COL1/MMP-1 ratio in the blood serum of a pregnant woman taken at the 8th week of pregnancy, which makes it possible to prescribe timely adequate therapy at an earlier period.
