FIELD: diagnostics and testing of vehicles.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to detect a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) of a vehicle. The scanner for active ABS sensors is a functionally complete device, it has its own controls and indications and is connected via connectors to the electrical circuits of the vehicle's ABS system. The scanner comprises a central processor, controls, a graphic display, switching units, current sources, power supplies, galvanic isolation elements, an alternating magnetic field generator, a controlled voltage source, and voltage and current meters. Switching units provide the ability to connect the scanner to the inputs of the ABS unit and active sensors. The alternating magnetic field generator is configured to simulate the rotation of a vehicle wheel to test active sensors. The voltage source is configured to simulate the operation of active sensors.

EFFECT: speeding up the process of diagnosing the ABS system, reducing the number of subjective errors of the repair personnel when assessing the technical condition of the ABS system and making a decision on the necessary repair work and replacing the elements of the ABS system.
