FIELD: medicine; purulent surgery; traumatology-orthopedics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to treat paraendoprosthetic infection of the knee joint. An audit of the affected joint, and a radical surgical treatment of the focus of infection are carried out, after which the removable elements of the endoprosthesis are removed. The imposition of the external fixation apparatus, and the distraction of the remaining components of the endoprosthesis are performed. The periprosthetic cavity is filled with a draining sponge and the wound is treated with local negative pressure in the range of 80–150 mm Hg. with delayed suturing of the wound after relief of inflammation and obtaining the results of bacteriological examination.
EFFECT: method provides increased reduction of the risk of secondary infection of the wound with a nosocomial infection and increased probability of successful relief of the infection without removal of the endoprosthesis due to the specifics of execution when exposed to negative pressure.
