FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for the complex treatment of postoperative sternomediastinitis in cardiac surgery patients. To do this, one day after performing the secondary surgical treatment, the patient is put on a portable apparatus vacuum-assisted bandage in combination with irrigation of the wound and a non-adhesive dressing placed on the bottom of the wound with a solution of a bacteriophage sensitive to bacterial pathogens identified during inoculation, in a volume of 20-40 ml. Irrigation is carried out at each change of vacuum-assisted dressings. At the same time, the patient is given a course of oral administration of the prescribed bacteriophage 30 minutes before meals, 20 ml 3 times a day for 10 days.
EFFECT: method allows improving the results of treatment of patients by including bacteriophages to combat multi-resistant microflora with decreased mortality, recurrence of sternal infection, the duration of the phases of the course of the wound process and the duration of hospital stay.
