SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary surgical instruments used in traumatology and orthopedics for interventions on the skeletal system. The veterinary bone holder consists of a working part made with sponges having a smooth bend and denticles on a concave surface. Sponges on the working part are fenestrated 3.0 mm thick, 15.0 mm wide. One of the branches additionally contains a screw ratchet having two elements, a latch made in the form of a diamond-shaped knurled nut and a spongy rod having a screw thread on one third of the length of the rod, fixed with the possibility of circular movement on the middle part of one branch, and the screw thread on the other end of the rod has a stopper for fixing the nut at the maximum dilution of the tool jaws. At the end of the other branch, a rectangular bend is made with a hole for the spongy rod free sliding. On the outer curved part, a cutout is made for one third of the thickness of the curved part for fixing the nut, which has a protrusion corresponding to the diameter of the cutout and forms a lock in a pair, providing anti-rotation stability in operation. In the middle of the inner surface of each of the branches, a spring lock is installed in the form of a plate directed towards the center and forming, together with the other plate, a rigid spring element, and the branches have notches along the outer surface.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to capture and hold by the jaws of the instrument either one or both bone fragments in the repositioning position, not only in the case of a longitudinal, spiral or oblique, but also in the transverse plane of the fracture.
