SUBSTANCE: invention relates to jet propulsion of ships and other watercraft. The low-speed jet propulsion unit consists of a conduit with a protective grill, which is connected to a rotary nozzle with a reverse damper. The conduit has an inlet cross-sectional area of 0.57 m2 and is connected to the pump casing, the cross-sectional area of which is 0.11 m2. The pump casing has a nozzle, in the inner space of which there is a straightener having a cross-sectional area at the outlet equal to 0.08 m2.
EFFECT: ensuring the speed of the ship with a low-speed jet propulsion equal to the speed of the ship with a high-speed jet propulsion at the same load, but with a lower speed of the impeller and the power consumption of the low-speed jet propulsion.
