FIELD: oil industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in operation of a well and determination of leaks in the insulating element of the well (packer). A method for determining the tightness of packers is claimed, in which a container with marker particles of various sizes is installed between the insulating parts of the packer with the possibility of separating marker particles from this container when the well fluid passes in its immediate vicinity, and samples of the well fluid are taken at the wellhead or marker particles are measured directly in the well fluid flow and the presence of marker particles and their sizes determine the presence of leaks and their sizes.
EFFECT: increase of the accuracy of determining the parameters of failure of the packer in the well.
