FIELD: aircraft fuel tank inertia systems.

SUBSTANCE: inert gas generator (1) from the air flow in the inerting system of at least one fuel tank of the aircraft comprises a system with an air inlet and devices (5) for distributing the air flow into several air separation modules (2). The control unit (6) of the distribution devices (5) is programmed to selectively supply air to one, part or all of the air separation modules (2) in accordance with the flight stage of the aircraft. The generator (1) comprises at least one oxygen analyser (7) and devices (5) for directing the inert gas at the outlet of each air separation module (2) to the oxygen analyser (7) in order to measure the efficiency of each air separation module (2) independently from other modules.

EFFECT: reduction in the mass of the system and a decrease in the consumption of inert gas.
