FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an inert gas generation system from an air flow, in particular for an inerting system for at least one fuel tank of an aircraft. Generation system comprises an air circuit comprising an air inlet channel, an inert gas outlet channel and first and second air separation modules, arranged in series in said air circuit to reduce content of oxygen in air and generation of nitrogen-saturated inert gas. Air circuit comprises guide devices for directing a portion of air flow upstream relative to first module directly to second module and guide devices for directing the entire air flow downstream of the first module directly into the inert gas discharge channel. System comprises first valve and second valve located in air circuit between first module and second module, wherein first valve is connected to gas outlet channel by first bypass circuit, and second valve is connected to air circuit upstream relative to first module by second bypass circuit. Group of inventions also relates to an inerting system for at least one fuel tank of an aircraft, containing at least one above-described inert gas generation system provided with bleed air discharged from at least one engine and/or air from passenger cabin, and distributing means for supply of inert gas to fuel tank(s) connected to inert gas generation system.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides creation of an inert gas generation system which can be tuned in accordance with aircraft flight needs and phase and which enables to generate an inert gas of high quality.
