SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the treatment of purulent spondylodiscitis of the lumbar spine. Percutaneously, the vertebral body is punctured transpedicularly with a Yamshidi needle. The mandrel of the needle is taken out and a metal exchange conductor is inserted into the body of the vertebra. After fixing the conductor in the bone tissue, the Yamshidi needle is removed. A double-lumen balloon catheter is inserted along the guidewire. The catheter is fixed by inflating the catheter balloon until the channel previously formed by the Yamshidi needle is closed, the conductor is removed, the catheter is fixed to the skin. Then, through a double-lumen balloon catheter using an automatic syringe-injector, the antibacterial drug vancomycin is delivered at a rate of 2 ml/h.

EFFECT: method provides safe and long-term continuous antibiotic therapy of a purulent-inflammatory focus in the spinal motion segment due to the primary accumulation of high concentrations of drugs locally in the pathological focus and their further distribution through the circulatory system.
