SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in devices for distributed temperature measurement as well as for measuring the temperature distribution along a fibre optic cable in extended objects used in security-related areas. The Rayleigh component of Raman scattering is used to assess the degree of degradation of the optical fibre, calculating distortions based on the assessment of the degree of degradation of the optical fibre, using optical and digital channels for measurement in an amount equal to the number of measured components.

EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of measurements using optical radiation due to the effective removal of distortions and noise in the received optical radiation signal.
