FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device has a pulsed source of probing radiation, a guided optical splitter, a detecting element, a recording system and a signal processing unit. The detecting element is in form of a single-mode optical fibre. The guided optical splitter separates the Rayleigh component and is connected in series to one or more additional guided optical splitters which also separates the Rayleigh component. The additional guided optical splitter is connected in series to one or more guided optical splitters which separate Stokes and anti-Stokes components of the scattered radiation. Components of the radiation are directed to photodetector modules of the recording system. In another version, the device additionally has a switch connected to the input of one of the photodetector modules. A pulsed semiconductor laser works on the wavelength of the anti-Stokes component and is connected to one input of the circulator.

EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring temperature distribution with considerable length of the detecting element.
