FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for maintenance of a slide gate valve at the outlet of a metallurgical container. During maintenance, the exact position of the metallurgical container and slide gate valve in the maintenance area is automatically determined by a robot and a drive is installed on the slide gate valve. At least one refractory stop plate can be robotically inserted into the movable assembly and into the sliding gate valve body, or it can be removed from it. It is possible to replace the automatic maintenance of the slide gate valve by a robot in the maintenance area with manual maintenance and vice versa. During automatic maintenance, the striker plates are installed together with the cassette in the housing and in the movable unit or removed from it. During manual maintenance, these cassettes are fixed in the housing or in the movable assembly, and the locking plates are manually installed directly in the cassettes remaining in the slide gate valve and centred in them, or fixed, or released.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to develop maintenance that will be optimally adapted to the difficult operating conditions at a steel mill in the ladle area.
