SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the management of mine and quarry dewatering plants operating at a positive suction height. In a known method for controlling the operating mode of a sump unit, including changing the productivity of the sump unit in terms of inflow, controlling the operating parameters of the pump and maintaining the liquid in the sump at an upper level by supplying air to the suction pipeline located below the level of the liquid pumped out by the pump, according to the invention, the change in the productivity of the dewatering unit and the operating parameters of the pump is ensured by bypassing a part of the liquid flow from the discharge pipeline to the pump inlet through the bypass pipeline with a control valve, when the liquid is bypassed, air is released from it and removed to the surrounding atmosphere.
EFFECT: expanded range of regulation of the operating mode of drainage units while maintaining the minimum geometric suction height of the pumps.
