SUBSTANCE: method for isolating and reusing a wash buffer solution, comprising: (a) moving an aliquot of the first liquid reagent into a fluid device; (b) after step (a) - moving the volume of the buffer solution into the fluid device; (c) after step (b), moving at least a portion of the volume of the buffer solution transferred in step (b) into the reservoir of the first buffer solution; (d) after step (c), transferring an aliquot of the second liquid reactant to the fluid device; (e) after step (d) - transferring the volume of the buffer solution into the fluid device; (f) after step (e), moving at least a portion of the volume of the buffer solution transferred in step (e) into the reservoir of the second buffer solution; (g) after step (f), transferring an aliquot of the first liquid reactant to the fluid device; (h) after step (g), transferring the buffer solution volume to the fluid device, wherein at least a portion of the buffer solution volume transferred in step (h) is transferred from the first buffer solution reservoir.

EFFECT: reduced amount of liquid buffer solution.
