SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to systems and methods of creating samples for biochemical analysis and/or biochemical reactions. System for carrying out biochemical reactions includes: a hydraulic network comprising a sample channel, a reaction chamber and a reservoir, wherein the sample channel is in flow communication with the sample opening configured to receive the biological sample, and the reaction chamber has at least one optically transparent surface for receiving illumination light from the optical path and an array of reaction recesses; pump assembly configured to be in fluid communication with the hydraulic network; rotary valve comprising a flow passage and rotatable between the first and second positions of the valve, wherein the flow channel hydraulically connects the reaction chamber and the sample channel when the rotary valve is in the first valve position, and hydraulically couples the reservoir and the reaction chamber when the rotary valve is in the second valve position, wherein the pump assembly causes the biological sample flow to the reaction chamber when the rotary valve is in the first valve position and causes the reaction component flow from the reservoir to the reaction chamber, when rotary valve is in valve second position; and a detection unit for detecting light signals generated by one or more reactions from the array of reaction recesses in the reaction chamber.
