FIELD: medicine; urology.

SUBSTANCE: optical semi-rigid urethrocystoscopy is performed with the patient placed in an examination chair in the Trendelenburg position. First of all, a cathegel-type gel is introduced into the urethra as a substance. Then, optical retrograde urethroscopy of all the sections of urethra is performed: urethra of the penis balanus, the spongy part of the urethra, the bulbous, membranous and prostatic sections of urethra, as well as the region of the bladder neck, using a polymer two-channel urethral catheter with semi-rigid optics, on the outer surface of the body of which ring marks are made with a uniform step followed by fixing the study on an electronic medium. A video image of the urethra is got. The catheter is removed outwards, if a cicatricial-sclerotic altered mucosa of the urethra is detected, the mark of the beginning of the stricture is made on the catheter, and if a visually unchanged mucosa of the urethra is detected, the mark of the end of the stricture is made on the catheter.

EFFECT: method allows to increase the efficiency of the method of endoscopic determination of the length of the urethral stricture by providing promptness and favorable conditions for endoscopic determination of the extent of the urethral stricture and determining the volume of subsequent, if required, surgical treatment.
