SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the cleaning of hard surfaces. The composition of the liquid detergent contains from 8 to 30 w/w% of a surfactant system containing (R₁-(OR')_n-O-SO₃^-)_xM^x+, where R₁ is a saturated or unsaturated C₈-C₁₆ alkyl chain; R' is ethylene; n ranges from 1 to 18; x is 1 or 2; M^x+ is a useful cation that provides charge neutrality selected from sodium, calcium, potassium and magnesium; and at least one selected from amphoteric surfactants, alkyl sulfates, alkyl benzene sulfonate and derivatives; from 0.001 to 0.2 w/w% of polyethylene oxide having a molecular weight of more than 200,000 g/mol; from 0.05 to 2 w/w% of fatty acids, including saturated hydroxy fatty acids containing from 8 to 18 carbon atoms, saturated non-hydroxy fatty acids containing from 8 to 18 carbon atoms, or mixtures thereof; from 0.1 to 5 w/w% of an inorganic salt selected from sodium chloride, magnesium sulfate, sodium sulfate and combinations thereof, and water. Also disclosed is a method for cleaning a hard surface and using the composition for washing hard surfaces by hand.
