TWO-LAYER PHANTOM OF A VERTEBRA WITH ADJUSTABLE FORCE PARAMETERS DURING DEFORMATION DUE TO A CHANGE IN THE RATIO OF MATERIAL COMPONENTS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2801492 C1

FIELD: teaching aids in medicine.

SUBSTANCE: two-layer vertebral phantom having outer and inner layers has the shape and dimensions of a human vertebra obtained from DICOM (standard for processing, storing, transmitting, printing and visualizing medical images) patient data. The vertebral phantom has an outer layer made of two-component cast polyurethane, 1.5 to 3 mm thick, simulating the thickness of the vertebral corticoid. The inner layer imitates the spongy trabecular tissue of the bone and is made of a mixture of two-component molded polyurethane and two-component molded polyurethane foam in an amount from 25% to 50% by weight of the entire mixture, which determines the value of the slope coefficient of the main line of the dependence of the measured torque moment of resistance of the material acting on the surgical instrument around the axis screwing, from the depth of entry of this instrument in the range from 0.0215 to 0.0417 N*m/mm when deforming the vertebral phantom with a pedicle screw with a diameter of 6 mm and in the range from 0.0201 to 0.0451 N*m/mm with deforming a vertebral phantom using a transpedicular tap with a diameter of 6 mm. A method of manufacturing a two-layer vertebral phantom is disclosed.

EFFECT: providing training for healthcare professionals in the process of installing pedicle screws, taking into account changes in power parameters that occur during surgical procedures.
