SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of parts such as shells with ribs on the outer surface. The method for producing shells with longitudinal ribs on the outer surface includes installing the shell on a die with a lead-in, pushing it through the die with a punch, while forming longitudinal ribs in one drawing operation with a thinning coefficient ms=1-h/S, where ms is the thinning coefficient, h is the depth of the depressions of the working band of the die, S is the thickness of the shell wall, in a die with a working band of diameter D1 =D2-2h, where D1 is the diameter of the working band of the die, D2 is the diameter along the top of the depressions of the working band of the die, h is the depth of the cavity of the working band of the die, whereas the local sections along the perimeter of the die are made with depressions of depth h on the working band, corresponding to the shape, number and size of the required ribs.

EFFECT: obtaining shells with any given number of longitudinal ribs on the outer surface.
