On the second day after the diagnosis of sepsis, the patient is administered in parallel with the complex of intensive etiopathogenetic therapy for sepsis, the following: meropenem (antibiotic) — 2 g 3 times a day for 15 days; infusion therapy with sterofundin — 1,500 ml a day as IV drip; ambroxol — 2 ml 3 times a day as inhalation; ipratropium bromide — 2 ml 4 times a day for 9 days; thrombo ACC — 100 mg a day orally; clopidogrel — 75 mg once daily orally; human albumin 10% — 100 ml as IV drip once daily; low molecular weight heparin fraxiparin — 0.6 ml s/c; haloperidol — 5 mg twice daily, 2 days; norepinephrine, vasoactive support — 0.15 mcg/kg/min as IV by the dispenser; biosulin for correction of hyperglycemia — s/c 3 times a day; omeprazole for prevention of stress ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract — 20 mg orally 1 once daily, and Nutricomp nutritional support — 400 ml a day orally, selenotherapy is carried out, including the administration of selenium forte 1,000 mcg, once daily, orally for 12 days.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of treatment by replenishing selenium deficiency in patients with septic encephalopathy and improve the overall outcome of 28-day mortality.
