SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for purifying styrene using falling film reboilers and heat pump technology in order to obtain the heat source needed for the separation column. According to the method based on the existing energy-saving technology of connected high and low pressure ethylbenzene and styrene recovery towers, the highly concentrated ethylbenzene gas separated from the top of the low pressure ethylbenzene and styrene recovery tower is directly compressed by a compressor, or the heat pump working medium is gasified using a highly concentrated gaseous ethylbenzene separated from the top of the low pressure ethylbenzene and styrene recovery column, while the gasified working medium of the heat pump is compressed. Directly compressed high concentration ethylbenzene gas or high concentration gasified and pressurized ethylbenzene gas is fed into the falling film reboiler under conditions of small heat transfer temperature difference to be used as a heat source for the pre-separation column and/or the styrene product recovery column during the extraction of styrene.

EFFECT: use of the proposed invention improves the energy efficiency of the process.
