FIELD: material control.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to material control by optical means and concerns an automated system for detecting glass-ceramic materials in cullet. The automated system contains at least one white source and at least one source of monochromatic ultraviolet radiation, each of which is oriented for radiation in the same irradiation zone. The system also includes an image acquisition device for acquiring an image of the irradiation area, and an image processing device for processing each of the images acquired by the image acquisition device. The image processing device contains a colorimetric imaging module capable of detecting glass ceramics among other types of glass.
EFFECT: simplifying the method and enabling the detection of transparent glass ceramics.
