FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns manufacturing of hard alloys and can be used for producing of cutting tool with raised requirements for wear resistance. Complex zirconium - tungsten carbonitride of compound Zr1-xWxC1-yNy, where x is equal to 0.2-0.5; is equal to 0.3-0.4, are synthesised from the mixture of tungsten carbide, zirconium carbide and zirconium nitride in the medium of nitrogen at the temperature 1700-1900°C. It is prepared charge, containing 87.5-91.0 wt % of the tungsten carbide and complex zirconium - tungsten carbonitride mixture and 9.0-12.5 wt % of cobalt. Mass ratio of tungsten carbide and complex zirconium - tungsten carbonitride is 1:3 - 3:1. Then there are implemented pressing, drying and sintering in vacuum at 1420-1460°C.

EFFECT: received alloy has high mechanical strength while hardness keeping.
