SUBSTANCE: in an installation for laser marking of end caps of containers for drinks and foodstuffs, containing sequentially installed unit for loading a stack of caps, unit for separating the stack into separate caps and feeding them to a movement unit for marking and subsequent unloading, laser marker unit, unit for assembling caps into stacks, and unloading from the installation. The marker unit contains a marker control unit, a pulsed laser source, an optical means for forming and guiding the laser beam, a detection module and a module for determining the speed of movement of the cap, and the marker unit contains a module for determining the orientation of the lid in form of a machine vision camera with a module control unit orientation detection module connected to an additional detection module, and light sources directed at the cap, moreover, the marker control unit is configured to generate a control signal to the optical means for forming and guiding the laser beam into required direction relative to the cap marking surface.

EFFECT: increase in the quality of laser marking and the efficiency of the installation.
