The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting activin receptor-like kinase 2 (ALK-2) receptor activity in a subject, comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of the invention and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable vehicles. The compounds of the invention are used in a method of inhibiting activin receptor-like kinase 2 (ALK-2) receptor activity in a subject, and of treating a disorder or disease selected from heterotopic ossification or progressive fibrodysplasia ossificans.
