FIELD: chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: method for producing hydrogen in two stages is proposed. At the first stage, steam reforming of oxygen-containing organic compounds (oxygenates) is carried out in the fuel processor at a temperature of 320-350°C and atmospheric pressure in the presence of a block catalyst containing oxides of aluminium, cerium and copper, successively deposited on the surface of a block made of fechral mesh. Dimethyl ether or methanol are used as oxygenates. A gas mixture enriched in hydrogen is obtained (a reformate) containing, vol.%: carbon monoxide less than 5, hydrogen 70. The resulting reformate is sent to the anode space of a hydrogen pump with a polymeric proton-conducting membrane based on polybenzimidazole to release hydrogen.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain hydrogen with a purity of 99.97 vol.%.
