FIELD: thermal power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for hydrophobizing a surface to stabilize droplet condensation. To form a hydrophobic structure on the heat exchange surface, a rough texture is created - a microrelief is formed by processing with a flow of abrasive particles at a speed v of at least 50 m/s. After this, the surface is cleaned by washing in an alkali solution and then in distilled water. A paste of carbon nanoparticles ranging in size from 5 to 50 nm mixed with oil is applied to the surface at a concentration of carbon nanoparticles of 0.1 wt.%.
EFFECT: reduced the labour intensity of the process of stabilizing droplet condensation with an increase in the heat transfer coefficient during droplet condensation and eliminating the pressing operation.
