SUBSTANCE: invention cam be used in the manufacture of electrical contacts, batteries, protective surfacing and coatings on metal products. First, 99.75-99.85 wt.% of nanonickel powder and 0.25-0.15 wt.% powder of thermally expanded graphite in an inert gas atmosphere, after which the prepared mixture is mixed and micromechanical splitting of thermally expanded graphite is carried out by grinding in an atmosphere of inert gas in a planetary mill in the mode of 380-420 rpm with reverse cycles lasting 1.5-3 minutes for 100 -140 min. Then the blanks are pressed in an inert atmosphere at a pressure of 12.0-13.0 t/cm2 for 10-15 minutes, they are sintered in a vacuum furnace at a residual pressure of 0.003 atm and a heating rate of 10-12°C/min up to a temperature of 1220-1270°C with exposure at this temperature for 1-1.5 hours and subsequent cooling in the furnace to room temperature for 5-6 hours.

EFFECT: resulting nickel-graphene nanocomposite is characterized by increased plasticity with unchanged microhardness.
