FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of ternary alloy Ni-Cr-C. Method involves heating the initial mixture of powders of micron size consisting of 25–45 wt% of chromium, 3–5 wt% of graphite and the rest of nickel, and its subsequent cooling. Heating of powders mixture is carried out in air at temperature 1,200–1,300 °C for 30–60 minutes, and cooling – in vapor of liquid nitrogen immediately after completion of heating to form Ni-Cr-C alloy containing chromium carbide microwhiskers Cr3C2.
EFFECT: higher hardness.
