SUBSTANCE: connecting device for end-to-end connection of two shafts contains two parts (16, 28) of a toothed clutch. Each part of the gear clutch is configured so that it can be attached to the end of the shaft to be connected, and two parts (16, 28) of the gear clutch have mating shapes. First part (16) of the toothed clutch is mounted with capability of rotation in first housing (6). Second part (28) of the toothed clutch is mounted with capability of rotation in intermediate support (8). Intermediate support (8) is mounted with capability of sliding in second housing (10), which is considered to be fixed, and intermediate support (8) is capable of sliding relative to second housing (10) in the direction of the two connected shafts, indicated as the longitudinal direction. Intermediate support (8) is elastically loaded in the direction of first housing (6). The coupling device can be used in a chain device for connecting equipment, such as agricultural equipment (100), to a machine attachment, such as an agricultural tractor (200), provided with a drive output shaft.
