FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions: a method of polymerization in solution for the production of elastomers and a scheme of reaction equipment for the production of elastomers. The method includes: continuous supply of one or more monomers selected from butadiene, styrene, isoprene, acrylonitrile, olefins or diolefins and mixtures thereof, one or more solvents in an amount in the range between 70% and 90% by weight and a catalytic system into the first stirred reaction a volume where one mixing section is formed in which polymerization begins up to a conversion in the range of 20% to 70% with respect to the final conversion achieved; carrying out polymerization in at least one second stirred reaction volume connected in series with the first reaction volume, in which two or more mixing sections are formed, at the output of which the final degree of monomer conversion is achieved. In the first reaction volume, the average residence time of the mixture of reagents is in the range from 10% to 25% with respect to the average residence time in the entire reaction volume. The scheme of reaction equipment for production of elastomers includes one or more stirred reactors with connected in series. The first stirred reactor is a single mixing section and has a reaction volume ranging from 1/10 to 1/4 of the total reaction volume, where the total reaction volume is the sum of the reaction volumes of all reactors present. Each of the reactors following the first one and connected in series is characterized by a reaction volume containing two or more mixing sections.
EFFECT: reduced fouling and significant improvement in operation of the installation and quality of the final product.
