SUBSTANCE: studded tire (101) comprises a tread (102) in which a stud (103) is installed. The protector (102) has a predetermined direction R of rotation. The protector (102) includes a plurality of blocks (105) and a transverse groove (106) which is adjacent to each block (105) from the rear side in the direction of rotation. The transverse groove (106) includes a gently sloping part (107) extending at an angle of not more than 30 degrees with respect to the axial direction of the tire. The spike (103) is installed in at least one of the plurality of blocks (105). The spike (103) includes a body embedded in the block (105) and a pin (120) protruding from the body in the radial direction of the tire. The body includes an upper flange (111) formed on the outer side in the tire radial direction. The upper flange (111) includes a tapered part (111A) in the projection on the plane. The upper flange (111) is positioned so that the tapered portion (111A) is oriented towards the rear side of the block (105) with respect to the direction of rotation R.
EFFECT: improved performance of the tire on snowy and icy road surfaces.
