SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automotive industry. Winter tire comprises tread provided with first inclined main grooves extending from first tread edge to area near tire equator, second inclined major grooves extending from tread second edge to area near tire equator, first inner longitudinal groove connecting the pair of first inclined major grooves near the tire equator and the second inner lengthwise groove connecting the pair of second inclined major grooves near the tire equator. Each first inclined main groove includes a first axially-inner end portion extending along the axial direction of the tire to the second inner longitudinal groove, and each second inclined main groove includes a second axially-inner end portion extending along the axial direction of the tire to the first inner longitudinal groove.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of tire running characteristics on snow-covered and icy road surface.
