FIELD: inspection equipment.

SUBSTANCE: device and method for optical inspection of sanitary wares. The claimed device (1) for optical inspection of sanitary wares contains: support means (2) configured to accommodate inspected sanitary ware (6) on it in the inspection position, set of cameras (41A, 41B, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D), configured to take set of images (4) of inspected sanitary ware (6) in the inspection position, an automatic manipulator configured to move between a set of operating positions relative to support means (2), wherein specified set of cameras (41A, 41B, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D) is mounted on an automatic manipulator, control unit (7) configured to receive set of images (4) taken by specified set of cameras (41A, 41B, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D). In this case, control unit (7) has access to database (8) containing reference data (81), and is configured to process set of images (4) depending on reference data (81) to provide diagnostic information (9) about sanitary ware (6) defect. Moreover, specified set of cameras (41A, 41B, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D) contains at least first group of cameras (41A, 41B) made with the ability to take three-dimensional images, and second group of cameras (42A, 42B, 42C, 42D) , made with the possibility of taking two-dimensional images, while the cameras of specified set of cameras (41A, 41B, 42A, 42B, 42C, 42D) are installed on head (36) of robotic arm (3).

EFFECT: providing automatic check of a sanitary ware with an increased level of reliability.
