FIELD: horizontal well drilling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the optimal control of this drilling with the condition of ensuring that the horizontal wellbore is located between the boundaries of the reservoir. The invention is intended to collect the necessary data on previously drilled reference wells in the drilling zone of the projected well. Based on these data, a preliminary geoelectric model of the geological section is formed along the design wellbore, in the intervals of which and reference wells markers of critical values of geoelectric data are set. An algorithm for the transformation of the measured geoelectric data for the reservoir, its top and bottom is prepared. The lower part of the drill string is equipped with a set of transmitter and receiver coils. During drilling, electromagnetic waves are launched into the rock mass. The electromagnetic response is measured. According to the phase shift and attenuation of the amplitudes of the electromagnetic response waves relative to the electromagnetic waves launched into the array, the characteristics of the rocks of the reservoir and the location of the rock cutting tool, the distance to the boundaries of the reservoir, the angle of occurrence of these boundaries, the proximity of any geoelectrically contrasting boundary to the wellbore are determined. Upon reaching the specified values of the distance to the nearest geoelectrically contrasting boundary, as well as with a minimum discrepancy between the data on the geoelectrical model and the measured data, the trajectory of drilling a horizontal section of the well between the reservoir boundaries is maintained or this trajectory is changed. At all stages of drilling, an algorithm for the transformation of measurement data is used in the mode of automatic presentation of these data.
EFFECT: increased drilling efficiency due to the possibility of registering the boundaries of the formation at a distance of up to 2 meters from the rock cutting tool, which makes it possible to track the approach of the boundary at each measurement point and make a decision to correct the drilling trajectory in advance – before the wellbore leaves the target reservoir.
