FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to creation of curtain walls in soil formations to localize and prevent migration of pollutants from buried, underground and aboveground accumulation and disposal facilities (pools, barns, storages, reservoirs, tanks, bunkers, landfills, buildings and structures) of waste of various classes. Method for obtaining a soil-clay element includes creation of a technological well - forward travel using the horizontal directional drilling method. After completion of the forward stroke, the supply pipes are switched to work with an injection solution instead of a drilling fluid. Then, using a reverse reciprocating rotational movement, the soil is destroyed and an injection solution is introduced into it under a pressure of 10–40 MPa and an air jet with a pressure of 0.1–0.8 MPa. The injection solution is prepared on the basis of an injection mixture, the concentration of which in the solution is 25–33.3 wt.%, and includes bentonite clay powder, finely dispersed silica, plasticizing and water-repellent additives, with the following component ratio, wt.%: bentonite clay powder - 40–90; finely dispersed silica – 9.8–45; plasticizing additives - 0.1–5; hydrophobizing additives - 0.1–10.

EFFECT: long-term isolation of groundwater and natural soil from migration of pollutants from waste disposal sites through the use of a horizontal and oblique impervious screen made of materials based on natural bentonite.
