SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of environmental protection, in particular, to creation of cutoff curtains in soil masses for the purpose of localising and preventing the migration of polluting substances from buried, underground, and aboveground sites of accumulation and disposal of various classes of waste. The method for creating a trench-type clay curtain involves developing a trench according to the "slurry wall" technology while filling with a bentonite drilling mud based on bentonite powder and process water at the ratio thereof of (5-10):(90-95). The trench is filled with a highly plastic binder composition based on bentonite clays and water, with a density of 1.20 to 1.25 g/cm3, under a pressure of 2.0 to 4.0 atm. through supply branch pipes, replacing and simultaneously pumping the drilling mud by discharge branch pipes.
EFFECT: increase in the durability of the waterproofing screen.
