FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for determining the sensitivity of microorganisms to antibiotics in the treatment of purulent-inflammatory diseases of animals, including collecting purulent discharge in a volume of 1 ml, cultivating it on the surface of meat-peptone agar, poured into Petri dishes with 1% glucose applied to its surface in a streak; then paper disks soaked in antibiotics are laid out, after which the Petri dishes are placed in a thermostat for 14 hours at a temperature of 37±0.5°C; the result is assessed by measuring the zone of growth retardation and the maximum size is used to judge the best effect of the antibiotic, which is recommended to be used to treat a sick animal.
EFFECT: invention enables determining the sensitivity of microorganisms to antibiotics without isolating a pure culture.
