SUBSTANCE: serving capsule for preparing a beverage in a beverage preparation machine. Serving capsule (1) for preparing a drink in brew chamber (13) of beverage preparation machine (14) has main element (2) with hollow space (3) for placing the original product for the beverage and cover (4) of the capsule locking hollow space (3). Main element (2) includes capsule bottom (5), circumferential flange (6) and capsule wall (7) extending between capsule bottom (5) and circumferential flange (6). Cap (4) of the capsule is fixed on sealing surface (8) on flange (6), flange (6) having thickening (9) extending around the circumference at its free outer end. A sealing element is provided on flange (6) in the form of sealing bead (10) facing away from cap (4) of the capsule, and on the side of cap (4) of the capsule, between thickening (9) and sealing bead (10), sealing plane (8) extends on flange (6). Sealing bead (10) has inner side wall (11) on the sides of wall (7) of the capsule and outer side wall (12) on the sides of thickening (9), while both outer side wall (12) and inner side wall (11) are directed at an angle (α, β) more than 89 and less than 90 degrees relative to sealing plane (8).

EFFECT: improved sealing action between the flange (of the capsule) and the element of the brew chamber without the need for increased efforts for this when closing the brew chamber or when removing the serving capsule after brewing, or without the need to use separate materials to implement the sealing action.
