SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a portioned capsule for preparing a beverage, comprising a basic element having a hollow space which provides the raw material for preparing the beverage and which is closed by a membrane which is fixed to the basic element, and a flange, at that the capsule has an identifier which enables to identify the corresponding portioned capsule. And the identifier is a ring gear or a segment of the ring gear which is provided on the outer contour of the flange.
EFFECT: invention enables to distinguish the portioned capsule from other similar ones, which prevents its use in automatic coffee machines for which they are not suitable.
