FIELD: transport machinery.

SUBSTANCE: system for obtaining energy for vehicle movement includes a power unit, low-pressure receiver (1), high-pressure receiver (2), cylinders (3) with compressed methane. The power unit contains compressors, each equipped with a multi-plate friction clutch. Each engine is equipped with a pneumatic starter and a multi-disc friction clutch. Each variator is connected to the compressor through a multi-disc friction clutch by means of a chain transmission, and to the engine through a multi-disc friction clutch by means of a gear drive. The variators are connected to the wheels of the vehicle, the compressors are connected to low-pressure receiver (1) through a pipeline, and the engines are connected to low-pressure receiver (1) and cylinders (3) with compressed methane. Receivers (1) of low and high pressure are connected to each other. Each engine contains at least one electromagnetic injector. A method for obtaining energy to power a vehicle is also disclosed.

EFFECT: recovery of vehicle braking energy.
