SUBSTANCE: method for determining the high risk of developing life-threatening arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death in patients with coronary heart disease, characterized by the fact that the patient is subjected to a genetic study for presence of a polymorphic substitution of guanine to adenine at position 9055 (G9055A) of the MT-ATP6 gene; if identified, a high risk of development of life-threatening arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death is predicted.

EFFECT: development of a method for selecting patients with coronary heart disease in whom implantation of a defibrillator will effectively reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death.
