FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiology, and can be used to predict the risk of persistent ventricular tachycardia in patients with ischemic heart disease and an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator. Patient's sex is determined. Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) of the myocardium with a radiopharmaceutical preparation of iodine-123 labelled meta-iodine-benzylguanidine is performed. SPECT results are used to determine the elution rate and accumulation defect of the radiopharmaceutical on the delayed scintigrams. Prognostic coefficient is calculated. If the prognostic coefficient is more than 0.12, the risk of sustained ventricular tachycardia is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables higher accuracy of predicting the risk of developing persistent ventricular tachycardia in the patients with ischemic heart disease by determining the prognostic coefficient.
