SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a method for determining the paint formulation and controlling the quality of the resulting paint. The method includes providing a database with a plurality of data sets, having the user determine a target application method, a target base, and a desired target shade, performing a search of the database, and displaying information related to the paint formulation if found. The database for at least one shade contains at least two different corresponding data sets, each of which contains the same shade identification code, but different bases and/or application methods and different paint formulations, and the database for at least one paint formulation contains at least two different corresponding data sets, each containing the same paint formulation identification code, but different bases and/or application methods, and the resulting shade. In addition, the method includes comparing the spectral curve of the manufactured paint with the spectral curve of the dyed product from the first manufactured batch contained in the database.
EFFECT: simplifying the method for determining the formulation and quality control of paint with a given shade.
