SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drilling and blasting in rocks and can be used in various industries that use blasting in rock masses, in particular in the development of minerals in an open way. The method of installing a stopper in a well involves lowering a mass with intense fracturing of a stopper in the form of a bar into the well, the transverse size of which is commensurate with the diameter of the well, with the help of flexible elements attached to it. At a distance of 1.5-3.0 meters from the daylight surface, in a section of the well wall, a widening is created through mechanical action that corresponds to the parameters of the bottom hole. A stopper made in the form of a block is lowered into the well to a given depth, one end of which is rounded, with a radius of curvature commensurate with the radius of the well, and the other is straight, using flexible elements, one end fixed to the end edges of the block, with the rounded end down, after whereupon the straight end of the stope is inserted into the widening, and the rounded end of the stope is pulled up until it stops against the well wall so that it is located below the straight end of the stope, after which inert material is placed on top of the stope.
EFFECT: increased degree of crushing of rock by explosion and increased reliability of stopper installation.
