FIELD: furniture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system for connecting furniture parts. A furniture joining system comprises a female connecting recess formed in a first furniture piece, and a male connecting tab protruding from an attached second furniture piece, wherein said male connecting tab comprises a first locking element configured to provide mutually locking engagement of a snap connection with a matching second locking element in said female connecting recess, wherein the male connecting tab is made more flexible than the female connecting recess. The coupling system also includes an upper guide surface disposed on a first side of a female connecting recess on the first furniture piece and providing a substantially inelastic guide for the male connecting tab when inserted therein, limiting movement of said male connecting tab toward said first side of the female connecting recess. The connection system also includes a lower guide surface disposed on a second side of a female connecting recess on a first piece of furniture located opposite said first side of a female connecting recess, said bottom guide surface being configured to cause the male connecting tab to be elastically deflected while it is engaged with said upper guide surface upon deflection of said connecting tab as it is further inserted towards the first side of the female connecting recess until the first locking member of the male coupling tab is latched into being locked in conjunction with a matching second locking member of the female connecting recess.

EFFECT: reducing the complexity of manufacturing, increasing strength and lateral stability when the system for connecting parts is exposed to forces from different directions.
