SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical processes for producing solid sorbents containing macromolecular compounds of natural origin, in particular to methods for producing sorption materials from plant materials. A method is presented for making a sorbent from flax processing waste, including moistening a flax shive with an aqueous solution of a modifying agent and a pH regulator, followed by heating the biomass with stirring, characterized in that 100 g of the fire is moistened with 300–500 ml of a modifying agent solution, which is an enzyme composition containing endoglucanase, exoglucosidase, endoxylanase, exoxylosidase, wetting agent neonol 9-12, acetate buffer CH3COOH/NaOH, characterized by enzyme activity in solution (un/ml): endoglucanase 300–500, exoglucosidase 1200–1500, endoxylanase 200– 300, exoxylosidase 800–1200; and heating of the biomass is carried out in two stages: the first stage is up to 40–45°C with exposure at pH 5.0–5.5 in contact with air for 120–180 min; second stage up to 95–98°C with exposure at pH 11 without air access for 20–30 min.

EFFECT: increase in the sorption capacity for heavy metal ions, ionic dyes, polar and non-polar organic compounds; obtaining environmentally friendly products; extremely low water consumption; compliance with the safety requirements of production processes, no need to use expensive equipment made of materials with increased corrosion resistance and the implementation of processing at temperatures exceeding 100°C.
