FIELD: coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the formation of tungsten and gold-based coatings on copper electrical contacts, which can be used in electrical engineering. The method includes an electric explosion of gold foil weighing 100-800 mg with tungsten powder weighing 0.5-1.5 times the foil placed on it, forming a pulsed multiphase plasma jet from the explosion products, melting the surface of a copper electrical contact with it at an absorbed power density of 4, 5-5.5 GW/m2, deposition of explosion products onto the surface with the formation of a composite coating based on tungsten and gold on it.
EFFECT: coating based on tungsten and gold on the surface of copper electrical contacts, which has high electrical erosion resistance and operational stability under conditions of switching electrical networks.
